1.Using an internet browser such as Explorer, Netscape, Safari, or Foxfire, log onto:
ps.mssd14.org NOTE: Do not use www.
2.Enter your assigned Username and Password.
3.If your user name/password does not work, or if you have problems or questions, please
contact Secretary Jenny Burnell at 685-2127.
4.The first screen you see, “Attendance” lists your student’s courses and teachers. Email the
teacher by clicking on the teacher’s name in blue. Access attendance detail by clicking on the
blue Attendance Total number.
5.Access grade details by clicking on the “Grades” icon at the top of the screen. This shows the
Content Skills and Knowledge grades for the current six week period. A “0″ probably means that
no grades have been entered for the current six weeks. Clicking the blue “Stored” takes you to
the Content Skills and Knowledge grades for the previous six week periods.
6.On the same page as the current Content Skills and Knowledge grades is access to Non-
Academic and Homework grades. Click on “Expand All” located just under “Non-Academic and
Homework”. The screen then shows a long column listing all Middle School courses divided into
two areas: Homework/Classwork followed by Non-Academic. By clicking on the blue course
your child is taking, you access a screen that shows the homework grade for the year to date. By
clicking “Stored”, you see the homework grades for the current six weeks (CG) and the previous
six weeks. Follow the same process for Non-Academic.
7.Other: Click “Email Notification”: This screen allows you to select information of your choice
via email. Click “School Bulletin”: This screen shows daily school announcements and
information.
8. When you click on anything blue, more detail about that blue item is provided.
If you have more than one student, you must log out of PowerSchool after viewing one child, and
then re-enter PowerSchool using the name and password of the second child. The system
recognizes each student separately and distinctly.
Remember: when you view attendance and grades, they are a snapshot in time!!! Five
minutes after you view grades, for example, the teacher may enter a new grade or change an
existing one for any number of reasons. Also, you may see a student marked as unexcused for
an absence because the note you sent hasn’t yet been processed. Please be understanding that
what you see is a work in progress.
